Contributed to the records of Yamato

We contributed to the compilation of historical materials for "The Complete History of the Battleship Yamato."

The Gunjo Foundation (hereinafter referred to as “the Foundation”) and its director, Ryota Ikeda, provided historical materials and cooperated in the compilation of the article “The Complete History of the Battleship Yamato: From the Imperial Defense Policy 1907-2025 to Uncovering the Truth about the Battleship 80 Years After the War,” which was published in the 43rd issue of Hiroshima Ken-shi-kyo (the journal of the Hiroshima Prefectural Local History Research Council) on October 26th. This contribution has led to the above cooperation, new facts and insights about the battleship Yamato have been published, contributing to further a deeper understanding of its history.

Cooperation details

Ryota Ikeda provided historical materials from his personal collection. As part of the compilation of the historical materials to be provided, the Foundation assisted by converting the cassette tapes originally recorded at the time into digital audio and removing noise.
